Loosely based on the 2006 book of the same name, and set in the same universe as the 2013 film adaptation, the game follows groups of survivors of a zombie apocalypse in the cities of Moscow, New York, Jerusalem, and Tokyo.

Max Brooks was born on May 22, 1972 in New York City, New York, USA as Maximilian Michael Brooks. He is a writer and actor, known for World War Z (2013), The Great Wall (2016) and Saturday Night Live (1975). He has been married to Michelle Kholos Brooks since 2003. They have only one child who is destined to rule the world someday. He is a lecturer at the Modern War Institute at West Point, New York.
